Rising Prospect Stays Close To Home

November 5, 2019

Bardstown, KY- On the Wednesday afternoon before Halloween Bardstown Senior forward J J Traynor committed to the University of Louisville. Traynor had made the announcement about his decision days before and had narrowed his list of schools down to two, Louisville and Cincinnati.

His decision wasn’t a surprise to many around basketball blogs and social media. It was well known Louisville Head Coach Chris Mack was a frequent visitor to Traynor’s workouts letting him know that he was a major priority for the Cardinal program.
Then there’s all the ties that lead back to the Louisville program. His high school coach Boo Brewer is a beloved Cardinal and JJ’s father Jason Osbourne, 1993 Mr. Basketball and McDonalds All American.
Other programs wanted the top 100 prospect but Louisville and Cincinnati attended multiple workouts, hosted visits, and expressed their want in Traynor. Traynor had over a dozen offers & even was invited to Kentucky’s Big Blue Madness after assistant coaches Kenny Payne visited a workout.
As far as his senior season Traynor should be a Mr. Basketball favorite & dominate the 5th region.
