Poll:Who Is The Pure Prospect Of The Week (Week 2)?

December 17, 2019

Last week you spoke on Twitter and decided that Mercer County’s Kaelin Drakeford was Week 1’s Player Of The Week. As we finish Week 2, we want you to vote on the nominees and their resumes to win the award.

2020 Jamison Epps of Marion Co. He’s back again and continues to be stellar – racking up stats and leading his team to victory. For this week, Epps had two great games with the first against Central Hardin, tallying 18 points, 20 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals. He followed that performance with the matchup against Adair County, putting up 15 points, 21 rebounds, and 2 assists. It’s easy to see why the 2020 G/W is being nominated with his consistent play.

2020 Sam Bearden of Louisville Holy Cross. Bearden had 20 points, 9 rebounds and hit the game winner with 3 seconds left in OT at Iroquois on 12/10. On 12/13, Sam had 24 and 6 in upset win at Fairdale. On 12/14, Sam had 17 and 7 and was named the Player of the Game in a win over Sayre in the Coach Lankster Classic at Sayre.

2020 Trevor Nauert of Whitefield. In 3 games this week (KCD, Brown, and Adair Co.), Nauert exploded for a combined 74 pts, 26 rebs, 9 assts, 30-47 from the field.

2022 G/F Bryce Riley. In 4 games, Riley averaged 20 PPG, 7 RPG, & 4 APG (including game winning 3 with 1.6 seconds left to beat district rival Bethlehem). Following night, 38 point effort in win vs. Model, that included 7 3’s. This helped Nelson County to a 3-1 record in week 2.

2020 Rodrell Dryden of Greenup County. They went 2-0 as a team this week. Dryden had a sensational week, nearly eclipsing two 20/20 performances. Against Lewis County, he poured in 19 points, 18 rebounds, 7 blocks, 5 assists, 2 steals. Against Dixie Heights, he had a ridiculous stat stuffer with 22 points, 20 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals, 3 blocks. Dryden’s averages for the week were 20.5 points, 19 rebounds , 6 assists, 5 blocks, 2.5 steals.

2020 Wyatt Supplee of Carroll County. He led Carroll County to a 2-0 record which included a game winning 3 pointer to best western 87-86. He amassed 47 pts on 6-9 from 3 and 13-14 from the free throw line. Supplee is averaging 30.2 ppg so far this season.

2022 6’1” PG Tanner Walton of Lexington Christian had 3 big games against some tough opponents. The super sophomore lit up the scoreboard & had 25 points & 10 rebounds vs Lafayette; 29 points, 16 rebounds vs Scott County, and 20 points and 8 rebounds vs Tates Creek.
