Lexington, KY- Terrence Clarke, a five-star Guard from Boston, verbally committed to Kentucky Friday. The #3 Overall Recruit in the 2021 class also reclassified to the 2020 class making him the #4 overall prospect in that class.
The 6’7” guard from the Brewster Academy announced he would make his college choice during the weekend. Clarke is Kentucky’s 4th pledge in the 2020 recruiting class, joining another five-star guard, BJ Boston, and four-star commits, Lance Ware and Cam’Ron Fletcher.
“I’m committing to the University of Kentucky because basically just the environment and everybody that’s there,” Clarke said. “They have welcomed me ever since last year. I just felt the atmosphere that I wanted to be there.”
Clarke is well known as one of the best perimeter scorers in the nation. Amongst the elite recruits in Nike’s EYBL AAU Circuit he averaged 16.2 PPG while showing off his athleticism and attack game. Clarke also averaged 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists during the spring and summer periods of the EYBL Circuit.
“Coach Cal has been in contact with me, my family and my coaches and he just saw something in me so hearing that from him pushed me a lot more,” Clarke said. “For him to say that he wanted me to be at his school, it meant even more to me. Coach [Tony] Barbee and me built a great relationship and those guys prioritize that we want to get to the next level and they’re going to do everything in their power to help that.”
Coach Calipari now has the #1 Recruiting Class Of 2020 and has been busy since the open period opened Monday by visiting recuits in eight different states.
