Player Evaluation:

The Big Man is known for owning the paint and any space around him. He is an elite rim protector with his shot blocking and altering ability. He is an outstanding rebounder and now that his 6’10 frame has filled out he uses his strength to gain better position and now moves opposing bigs on the block and in the paint. James has also continued to work on his offensive game. He now has a nice looking shot that has great form along with a high release point making it hard for defenders to block. He is most effective and very efficient with a short to mid range face up jump shot. His offensive attack includes a back to the basket arsenal that has improved and a go to for James. Many speculate the big’s athleticism and lateral foot speed that he has increased showing a quicker second jump and he runs the floor much smoother. The Center/PF has an excellent basketball game IQ, great at boxing out and gaining position, stays out of foul trouble when blocking shots which college coaches will appreciate if not love. At the end of the day coaches can’t teach 6’10” with proven improvement and a tremendous upside with unseen potential. James proved he could not only play with the nation’s best big men but bothered many while holding his own this spring and summer against the on nation’s most elite AAU/Grassroots Circuit, Nike’s EYBL with his team the Meanstreets. Going into his junior season James has plenty of time to develop a consistent mid range plus three point shot to his offensive attack along with working on his footwork. Ranked #7 going into the 2019-2020 (Junior Year) James could quickly shoot up the board and collect multiple high (Power 5) Division 1 attention & offers.
